Born in Ontario, Canada in 1950. Rick studied fine art at the University of
Western Ontario and film animation at Vancouver College of Art. During the 1980s Rick exhibited widely in Canada and New York
and simultaneously pursued a distinguished career in illustration and film animation.
Rick came to Ireland in 1986
and became an Irish citizen in 1995. He settled in Greystones, Co. Wicklow where he currently lives and works. He has now
devoted his talents to painting full time.
Working in oils and acrylics, his technique is meticulous, building up
broad spectrums of colour with multiple brushstrokes. His work is dominated by nature, he is fascinated by the movement of
water and its power to engage people, especially children in a multitude of activities.
